The Harvard Hornets will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Durand Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Harvard has struggled recently with eight defeats in a row, while Durand will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Wednesday, Harvard was beaten by Crystal Lake Central 59-26.
Even though Durand has not done well against North Boone recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Durand walked away with a 55-46 victory over North Boone.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Durand to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Folk, who scored 24 points along with four steals. The game was Folk's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Ethan Rager was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Harvard bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Durand, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Harvard came up short against Durand in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 47-36. Can Harvard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
