Rockridge has gone a perfect 7-0 against Princeton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rockets will welcome the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Princeton will be up against a hot Rockridge squad: the team just extended their winning streak to 12. The Rockets' pitcher stepped up to hand Orion a 15-0 shutout on Thursday.
Tatum Lowe looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Emilee Black was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Stella Riley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Rockridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Princeton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 12-2 victory.
Piper Hansen was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Hansen was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kelsea Klingenberg, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ellie Harp, who earned two RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
Rockridge's win was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Princeton, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rockridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .382. However, it's not like Princeton struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rockridge took their victory against Princeton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
