The Avella Eagles suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 79-57 loss at the hands of Union Area. Avella has not had much luck with Union Area recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Westley Burchianti and Bryce Wright certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Burchianti scored 19 points, while Wright scored 17 points.
Avella's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-8. As for Union Area, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avella will face off against Jefferson-Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Area will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Carlynton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
