Cotulla is 8-2 against Lytle since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cotulla Cowboys will face off against the Lytle Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Cotulla is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Cotulla got the win against Hondo by a conclusive 13-3. The victory continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won five in a row.

Cotulla got a great performance from Christlyn Munoz as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Munoz has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Sareen Ramirez was a standout: she scored four runs and stole Six bases. while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Jackeline Alba also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Cotulla always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hondo only posted an OBP of .304.

Meanwhile, Lytle lost 11-5 to Natalia on Tuesday.

Giselle Esparza made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was ADDISON CRIADO, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Lytle's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Cotulla, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Cotulla was able to grind out a solid win over Lytle in their previous meeting back in February, winning 13-8. Will Cotulla repeat their success, or does Lytle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
