The Malone Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 53-45 to Sneads. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Malone in their matchups with Sneads: they've now lost four in a row.
Malone's loss came despite strong showings from Hoke Harkrider and Jackson Welch. Harkrider scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Welch scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Welch hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Everett Welch, who scored seven points.
Nykavian Bradley was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals for Sneads. Bradley hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Perkins, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Malone has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Sneads, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Malone will play host again and welcome Poplar Springs, where tip off is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Poplar Springs is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Sneads, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Liberty County at 6:30 p.m. Liberty County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 577th, while Sneads is ranked 225th).
