It was a good run, but  Fillmore Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their  ten-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell  60-51 to the Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing  71-51 to the Panthers when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Fillmore Central's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Daniel Stoner, who  shot 53% from the field to rack up 18 points and five  assists. Stoner has been hot recently, having  posted 15 or more  points the last four times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Kinyon Miller, who  went 5-for-6  en route to 14 points.
 Leading Doniphan-Trumbull to victory were  Jack Poppe and  Parker Volk.  Poppe  dropped  a double-double with 23  points and 11  rebounds, while  Volk  shot 81% from the field on his way to 29 points and six  boards. The dominant performance gave  Poppe a new career-high in  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Luke Askey, who  posted four  points and five  boards.
Fillmore Central's  defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 20-5. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-6.
 Fillmore Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  contest,  a  57-52  win against Holdrege on the 1st.
