The Emmett Huskies will head out to face off against the Vallivue Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Emmett knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Vallivue likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Emmett beat Skyview 48-44.
Emmett got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sammy Howe out in front who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 58 receiving yards and a touchdown. Howe got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 83 yards. Ryder Scheibe was another key passer, throwing for 258 yards and five touchdowns on only 18 passes.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Emmett was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 226 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 188 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, while Vallivue put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Caldwell. Vallivue claimed a resounding 50-0 win over Caldwell on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.
Onix Carson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Tyler Buckley got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Vallivue wouldn't let Caldwell keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Jayden Cagle, Eian Hendrickson, and Hendrickson picked up one apiece.
Emmett's record is now 4-1. As for Vallivue, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
