Catskill has won three straight games at home, while Taconic Hills has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Cats will welcome the Titans at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Catskill is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Germantown with a sharp 28-2 win on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Riley Street made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Catskill is 3-1 when Street posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, John McKenna was a standout: he fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-5. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Demetrio Morales, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs.
Catskill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .635. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Taconic Hills never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Greenville. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Jacob Alvarez, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Francis Conners-Schmid was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Catskill now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Taconic Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Catskill has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. However, it's not like Taconic Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Catskill might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Taconic Hills in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Cats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
