Softball Recap: Bishop Verot Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Bishop Verot pushed their score to 20 the last time they played Neumann, but on Tuesday they couldn't quite do it again. Bishop Verot skirted past Neumann 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Crimson Lawrence made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Lawrence wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alexalys Torres, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Bishop Verot's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Neumann, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Verot will take on Aubrey Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
