The Galway Golden Eagles had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Wells by a score of 54-44 on Monday. Galway's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Several Wells CSD players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Paul Smith, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Chase Brooks was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Galway's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6. As for Wells, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Galway will be home for the holidays to greet Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Wells, they will head out on the road to face off against Keene Central at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th.
