The Seeger Patriots won the last time they faced the Covington Trojans, and things went their way on Thursday too. Seeger walked away with a 36-23 victory over Covington. That's two games straight that Seeger has won by exactly 13 points.
Seeger got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleigh Purcell out in front who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Rylea Wetz was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Seeger pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Covington, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seeger won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fountain Central at 6:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Hopefully Fountain Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Friday. Covington will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Attica at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
