Basketball Game Preview: Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders vs. Mount Hope Christian Academy Warriors

The Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders will be taking part in a tournament against the Mount Hope Christian Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Greater Beckley Christian didn't have too much trouble with St. Joseph Central as they won 75-57.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greater Beckley Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keegan Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. Davidson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Gunter, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 24 points.

Greater Beckley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Hope Christian Academy). They were the clear victor by an 85-63 margin over Parkersburg Christian on Saturday. The score was close at the half, but the Warriors pulled away in the second half with 51 points.

Greater Beckley Christian's record is now 6-3. As for Mount Hope Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Greater Beckley Christian came up short against Mount Hope Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 76-71. Thankfully for Greater Beckley Christian, JOSIAH MCKOY (who dropped a double-double on 40 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
