Oswayo Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Northern Potter apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Oswayo Valley saw an underclassman step up: Dawson Welch scored 12 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him.
Oswayo Valley bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Northern Potter, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Oswayo Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cuba-Rushford at 2:30 p.m. on January 6th. Cuba-Rushford is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Northern Potter, they will head out on the road to face off against Cameron County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cameron County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
