Waccamaw is 0-10 against the Wildcats since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Waccamaw Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Dillon Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
A well-balanced attack led Waccamaw over the Blue Jackets in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Waccamaw blew the Blue Jackets out of the water with a 68-29 final score. With that victory, Waccamaw brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Waccamaw relied on the efforts of Tyrese Haynes, who scored 14 points along with four steals, and Nate Kettels, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Sutton Cooper was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Manning scored an imposing 68 points on Friday, Dillon still came out on top. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Dillon made off with a 69-68 victory over the Monarchs. The win made it back-to-back wins for Dillon.
Waccamaw's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-16. As for Dillon, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6.
Waccamaw couldn't quite finish off the Wildcats when the teams last played back in January and fell 46-43. Can Waccamaw avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
