Somonauk is 3-0 against LaMoille since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Somonauk Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the LaMoille Lions at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Somonauk managed to keep up with Hinckley-Big Rock until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Somonauk was beaten by Hinckley-Big Rock 70-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Somonauk has scored all season.
Meanwhile, LaMoille suffered a tough 63-42 defeat at the hands of Woodland on Wednesday. LaMoille has struggled against Woodland recently, as their game on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tyler Billhorn, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. He scored a full 40.5% of LaMoille's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tate Sundberg was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Somonauk bumped their record down to 4-3 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for LaMoille, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Somonauk against LaMoille when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 65-36 victory. With Somonauk ahead 38-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.
