Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Edgewood Lions walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cougars a 5-0 shutout on Friday. Edgewood's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.
Edgewood pushed their record up to 16-3-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three games. As for Glendale Adventist, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
Edgewood will head out on the road to square off against Temecula Prep at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Temecula Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 705th, while Edgewood is ranked 323rd). Glendale Adventist does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
