South is 10-0 against Eastmoor Academy since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The South Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Eastmoor Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. South is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
On Tuesday, South didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Africentric Early College, but they still walked away with a 48-42 victory. Given South's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Africentric Early College is ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Maurice Mccall, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chris Stokes, who scored 11 points.
Eastmoor Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were outmatched by Bishop Ready on the road and fell 68-35. Eastmoor Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.
South pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Eastmoor Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
South took their victory against Eastmoor Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 68-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for South since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
