The Pittsburg Pirates were the 61-14 winner over the Spring Hill Panthers when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Pittsburg took a 40-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spring Hill. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Pittsburg's lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaylen Holloway, who rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Holloway is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Lachristian Johnson also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Pittsburg are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Spring Hill, Pleasant Grove, and North Lamar. As for Spring Hill, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pittsburg will take on Liberty-Eylau at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty-Eylau is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Spring Hill, they will be playing at home against Gilmer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gilmer presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Spring Hill in Texas (Gilmer is ranked 189th, while Spring Hill is ranked 557th).
