Basketball Recap: Fort Wayne Snider Falls Despite Big Games from Trell Hogue and Qualyn Clopton

If Fort Wayne Snider was feeling good fresh off their 72-46 takedown of Heritage last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fort Wayne Snider Panthers fell to the Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Cadets 52-46. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cadets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Qualyn Clopton and Trell Hogue certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Clopton dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Hogue posted 11 points and four steals. That's the most steals Hogue has posted since back in December of 2023. Layne Patterson was another key player, putting up five points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Fort Wayne Snider smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Fort Wayne Snider's record is now 8-8. As for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Wayne Snider will welcome Carroll at 7:45 p.m. on January 31st. As for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, they will host Central Noble at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
