Alpha - East recap October 29, 2013
Brentwood School moved up to 704 from 774 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Alpha - East. The Eagles were able to move up by topping Windward 16-14.
Brentwood School and the Wildcats played the most contested game in the league this week, with Brentwood School eventually emerging with a 16-14 victory.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Windward's Connor Simpson and Austin Webster have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Simpson has thrown for 1,296 yards this season, while Webster has 40 catches for 627 yards. Eli Stern from Patrick Brown's team leads the league in rushing with 394 yards.
The top two teams in Alpha - East will face off this week when first place Windward takes on second place Paraclete. Last week, Alvin Cowan's team lost to the Eagles, while Paraclete topped Marshall.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Spirits take on the Wildcats. Paraclete has allowed 151 points this season, while Windward has given up 126. Norm Dahlia's team allowed 7 points last week as it topped the Eagles.
The Spirits took down Marshall 62-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
