Bridgeport had lost three straight at home, but  on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 6-11 to make it four. They came up short against  the Ritchie County Rebels, falling  15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  13-1  last Wednesday.
As for Ritchie County, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 12 matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 14-4-1 record  this season. The result was nothing new for Ritchie County, who have now won 11 contests by six  runs or more  so far this season.
For Ritchie County's part,  Rocklyn Marcum made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and only one walk). Marcum was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in March of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Chelsie Jeffrey and  Rindy Perkins did most of the damage at the plate:  Jeffrey  went 1-for-2 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double, while  Perkins  went 1-for-2 with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Ava Satterfield, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bridgeport will venture away from home to  take on Fairmont Senior  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Ritchie County, they will head out to  face off against Braxton County  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
