The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: DuBois Christian has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Calvary Christian Academy will arrive with four straight wins.
On Friday, things could have been worse for DuBois Christian, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-28 loss to Blair County Christian.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with Johnstown Christian on the road on Thursday as they won 63-45. Given Calvary Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Johnstown Christian is ranked 746th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tyrell Lapp, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 20 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Micah Lloyd was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
DuBois Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
DuBois Christian came up short against Calvary Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 62-54. Can DuBois Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
