Liberty and Brookville are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Liberty Minutemen will head out on the road to take on the Brookville Bees at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty is hoping to put an end to a 14-game streak of away losses.
Liberty pushed their score all the way to 63 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Christiansburg. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty in their matchups with Christiansburg: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Brookville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to William Campbell.
Despite their loss, Brookville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tristan Harbour, who scored 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harbour has scored all season. Jayden Miller was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Brookville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Liberty strolled past Brookville when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 59-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
