In what's become a running theme this season, the Immaculate Conception Lions gave their fans yet another huge victory on Sunday. They put the hurt on Trenton Catholic Academy with a sharp 67-45 victory. The victory was nothing new for Immaculate Conception as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Loss or not, Trenton Catholic Academy got some senior leadership from Saniyah Spell and Mayah Alford. Spell scored 16 points along with two steals, while Alford. almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Alford is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sondjane Dourdin, who scored four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Trenton Catholic Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They are 10-5 when they just don't pass the ball.
Immaculate Conception has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Trenton Catholic Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Immaculate Conception will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Columbia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Lions are ranked third). As for Trenton Catholic Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Pirates at 5:15 p.m. on February 5th. Cinnaminson will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
