Woodland is 9-1 against the Bobcats since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Woodland Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Delta Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Woodland has six straight victories, the Bobcats have four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Woodland put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Advance 86-54 at home. Given Woodland's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Hornets are ranked 531st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Delta pushed their score all the way to 62 last Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were beaten by Kelly 95-62. Delta has not had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Woodland's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 87.8 points per game. As for Delta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Woodland against the Bobcats in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 97-67 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
