Lodi and St. Mary are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Flames will square off against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lodi is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Lodi will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against West on Tuesday. The Flames never let the Wolfpack get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Flames, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Abby Schweigerdt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Lodi got a massive performance out of Ellie Schallberger, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Schallberger has posted since back in April of 2024. Tealla Rivera was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Lodi hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West struck out 12 times.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Mary's). They walked away with a 15-11 win over West on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Ava Arucan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and ten unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Maya Garcia was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Matea Muraoka, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lodi has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for St. Mary's, their record now sits at 6-13.
St. Mary's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lodi has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for St. Mary's, though, as they've been averaging 10.4 hits. Given Lodi's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
Lodi took their win against St. Mary's in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a conclusive 9-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flames since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
