Fordland and the Bulldogs are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Fordland Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gainesville Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fordland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 420th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 133rd).
Fordland unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Norwood, falling 84-34.
Even though Gainesville has not done well against the Pirates recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Gainesville walked away with a 76-66 win over the Pirates. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Fordland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Gainesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Fordland came up short against the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in February of 2022, falling 59-50. Can Fordland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
