Even though the Northwest Vikings scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, the Clarksville Wildcats still came out on top. Clarksville managed a 60-55 win over Northwest. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Clarksville.
Clarksville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kellen Howard, who scored 17 points. The match was Howard's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trey Youngs, who scored 13 points.
Clarksville's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4. As for Northwest, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarksville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Father Ryan at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th. Northwest will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rossview at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
