Football Recap: Trinity Piles Up the Points Against Warren

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kountze, Trinity was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 36-7 victory over the Warren Warriors. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 26 points or more this season.

Warren's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of James Barlow, who rushed for 87 yards and one score on only nine carries, and Slade Mashaw, who rushed for 57 yards on only eight carries. Barlow also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making five total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Trinity's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-2. As for Warren, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity will host Newton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Warren, they will welcome Northside Lions Sports Association at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
