The Ypsilanti Grizzlies put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 33-21 victory over Huron. Given Ypsilanti's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Huron is ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
SYLVER BOWLES was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with five steals. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Charity Hurt was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
Ypsilanti pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Huron, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Ypsilanti will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Redford Union at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Huron, they will head out on the road to face off against Detroit Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Detroit Country Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
