Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in prep basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2023-24 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Dylan Harper of
Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey) is the 2023-24 New Jersey MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot-6 senior guard led the Ironmen to a 29-3 record and the Non-Public A state championship.
For the season, Harper averaged 22.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He tallied 38 points and eight rebounds in a 56-42 victory over St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City) in the North Jersey Non-Public A title game and contributed 26 points, nine rebounds and four assists in a 56-29 win over Paul VI (Haddonfield) in the state championship.
