6A District 14 recap October 8, 2013
Heritage extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 14 this week by beating Port St. Lucie, 51-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
The Jaguars moved up to 266 from 298 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Port St. Lucie was able to move up by falling to Heritage 51-7.
Alex Ogle threw for 218 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 28-45 with 0 interceptions.
Jesse Jones was the best wideout in the league this week as Bayside defeated Jensen Beach. Jones racked up 6 receptions for 75 yards. Joshua Tyson helped Bayside's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 47 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Ogle of the Falcons is the league leader in passing yards this season with 940. He has also thrown 9 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Lucious McKay. The Bayside star has 15 catches for 289 yards.
A big matchup in 6A District 14 this week will be when Jensen Beach takes on South Fork. Tim Caffey's team is currently in fourth, while the Bulldogs are in third.
South Fork was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in the league. Dennis Lavelle's team defeated Westwood 41-0 earlier in the week.
