Basketball Recap: Concord Piles Up the Points Against Reading

Concord had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 30-point drubbing they dealt Reading on Wednesday. The Concord Yellowjackets took their game with ease, bagging a 52-22 victory over the Reading Rangers. The Yellowjackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Concord's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bradie Lehman led the charge by dropping a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lehman has been hot recently, having also posted five or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace Thorrez, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 15 points and seven boards.

Despite the loss, Reading still got an impressive performance from Aubree Ervans, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Concord is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. With the loss, Reading broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-11.

Coming up, Concord will take on Zion Christian in a tournament on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Zion Christian sitting on ten straight wins and Concord on eight. Reading does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
