The Riesel Indians will take on the McGregor Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
McGregor will be up against a hot Riesel squad: the team just extended their winning streak to ten. Everything went the Indians' way against Axtell on Thursday as they made off with an 11-1 victory. Riesel's win was all the more impressive since the Longhorns were averaging only 4.04 runs allowed on the season.

Kyleigh Benton (UAM) made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sveva Mariotti, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Raizel Chaparro, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, McGregor hadn't done well against Whitney recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Wildcats 10-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Emma Knox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits.
At the plate, Addyson Todd was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Riesel pushed their record up to 17-4-1 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for McGregor, their victory bumped their record up to 22-3.
