Empire may have come out ahead in their last contest, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will challenge Alex on the road on Friday. Empire will be strutting in after a win while Alex will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Their game three weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Empire, but their most recent matchup may have softened the blow. They blew past Cyril 38-8. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Empire's flat performance the matchup before.
Meanwhile, Alex received a tough blow last Thursday as they fell 30-48 to Destiny Christian. If the result catches you off guard, it should: Alex were the far and away favorite.
Alex's loss took them down to 2-2 while Empire's victory pulled them up to 2-2. A win for Alex would reverse both their bad luck and Empire's good luck. We'll see if Alex manages to pull off that tough task or if Empire keeps their momentum going instead.
