The Stafford Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 77-30 loss at the hands of Riverbend. Stafford has not had much luck with Riverbend recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Riverbend got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maniyah Alston out in front who scored 16 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Long, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Stafford dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.8 points per game. As for Riverbend, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Stafford will head out on the road to take on North Stafford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Stafford presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Stafford in Virginia (North Stafford is ranked 187th, while Stafford is ranked 389th). As for Riverbend, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Colonial Forge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
