Shorecrest Prep comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Shorecrest Prep suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Countryside, falling 49-13. While losing is never fun, Shorecrest Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 617th, while Countryside is ranked 174th).
Meanwhile, St. Petersburg Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They were beaten by Seven Rivers Christian 57-23.
Shorecrest Prep's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.3 points per game. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Shorecrest Prep was taken down by St. Petersburg Catholic 37-6 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of St. Petersburg Catholic's Elise Graham, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
