Basketball Game Preview: Genoa Christian Academy vs. Bishop Hartley Hawks

Genoa Christian Academy will square off against the Bishop Hartley Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Genoa Christian Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering East Knox just ended the team's four-game winning streak two weeks ago. They fell to the Bulldogs 48-42. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Genoa Christian Academy came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while East Knox is ranked 394th).

Genoa Christian Academy might have lost, but man, Reagan Schuck was a machine: she went 6 of 12 en route to 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave Schuck a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Baer, who posted five points along with nine boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Genoa Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Bishop Hartley strolled past Worthington Kilbourne with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 53-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Genoa Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Bishop Hartley, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
