Baseball Game Preview: Warner Robins Demons vs. Ware County Gators

The Warner Robins Demons are taking a road trip to square off against the Ware County Gators at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Warner Robins comes in on five and Ware County on ten.

Warner Robins is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over New Hampstead on Friday. The Demons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Drew White made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Chase Plank was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Kameron Lester was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Warner Robins always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Hampstead only posted an OBP of .480.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Ware County sidestepped Perry for a 4-2 victory.

Ware County pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Warner Robins, their record now sits at 9-4.

Warner Robins suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Ware County in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can Warner Robins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
