Christian Lezzer ran for two touchdowns and
Tyler Stratton added three as well as
Clearfield (Pa.) bested Bald Eagle Area (Wingate, Pa.) 49-8 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a Stratton touchdown run in the first quarter, the Bison led 49-0 at the half.
Clearfield put up 28 points in the second quarter en route to the win. CHS scored on a Lezzer touchdown run, a touchdown pass by Lezzer to
Trey Jordan, a touchdown run by Lezzer and a
Seth Ford touchdown run in the quarter.
Titus Tice made a difference for the Bald Eagles. The sophomore ran for one touchdown.
Bald Eagle Area's lone touchdown came on a 2-yard run by Tice in the fourth quarter.
The Bison went into the matchup giving up only 16.9 points per game. The eight points that BEA ended with were well below its average of 17.7 coming into the game.
A 49-14 Clearfield victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Bald Eagle Area defeated Huntingdon 35-26 last week.
Bald Eagle Area (5-3) will play a non-conference game against Bellefonte next week, while Clearfield (8-0) will take on Philipsburg-Osceola in a Mountain game.
