Softball Recap: Maud Wins Going Away Against Mcleod

Maud made up a huge gap compared to their last game against McLeod, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Maud put the hurt on McLeod with a sharp 12-2 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Keira Mangtamag made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Brooke Allison was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Tori Loyed was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Maud's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for McLeod, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Maud will have a chance to go back-to-back against McLeod: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
