Even though the Manatee Hurricanes scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, the Lennard Longhorns still came out on top. Lennard had just enough and edged Manatee out 58-55. This was payback for Lennard, who suffered a 62-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Lennard's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arcadian Davis, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least 25% of Lennard's points. Another player making a difference was Makai Hills, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals.
Lennard's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Manatee, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Lennard will be playing at home against Spoto at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Spoto focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday. Manatee won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Parrish Community at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Parrish Community is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
