Wingate extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 5-2. They enjoyed a cozy 31-16 win over the Shiprock Chieftains. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

As for Shiprock, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6. On the bright side, the 16- point effort marked their highest-scoring game to date.

Although Shiprock took the loss, they still got scores from Blake Begay and Arnesto Manygoat.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wingate is set to take on their familiar foe Gallup at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. Meanwhile, Shiprock will challenge rival Tohatchi at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
