Softball Recap: Galt Wins Going Away Against El Dorado

Galt barely beat El Dorado the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Galt put the hurt on El Dorado with a sharp 9-3 victory on Tuesday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Evianna Barrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rachael Parkinson was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Maldonado, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Galt's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-8. As for El Dorado, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Galt will challenge rival Amador at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, El Dorado is set to face off against their familiar foe Liberty Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
