It was a proper cat-fight when Providence duked it out withGaringer on Tuesday. The Providence Panthers put the hurt on the Garinger Wildcats with a sharp 72-46 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Panthers have posted since December 6, 2024.

Despite the loss, Garinger saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aaron Lawler went 10 for 20 on his way to 23 points and three steals. That was a full 50% of Garinger's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Jameer Nealy was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

The win made it two in a row for Providence and bumps their season record up to 4-12. As for Garinger, their defeat was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Providence and Garinger could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Providence (ranked 387th) will meet East Mecklenburg (ranked 144th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Garinger (ranked 480th) will meet Rocky River (ranked 190th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
