Archimedean lost against the Pinecrest Prep Crocs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Archimedean fell 44-35 to Pinecrest Prep. Archimedean has not had much luck with Pinecrest Prep recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Several Archimedean players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joseph Vega, who scored 20 points. Vega scored a full 57.1% of Archimedean's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. David Lopez-Lantigua was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Pinecrest Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaron Castellon led the charge by scoring eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Nolasco, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Archimedean's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Pinecrest Prep, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archimedean will square off against BridgePrep Village Green at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pinecrest Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Horeb Christian at 4:00 p.m. on December 11th.
