The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes on the road again on Saturday and play against the South Broward Bulldogs at 9:30 a.m. on January 27th. Pompano Beach will be strutting in after a victory while South Broward will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Pompano Beach didn't have too much trouble with Coral Springs Charter on the road as they won 50-34. The victory was just what Pompano Beach needed coming off of a 59-37 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, South Broward fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Dillard on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 65-58 to the Panthers. South Broward just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Gabriel Collier, who scored 17 points. Nelson Maldonado was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds.
The win got Pompano Beach back to even at 10-10. As for South Broward, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Pompano Beach ended up a good deal behind South Broward in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, losing 64-45. Can Pompano Beach avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
