The Gloria Deo Academy Lions suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of NYOS Charter by a score of 41-38. Gloria Deo Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Trey Huff was his usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with eight steals and two blocks for NYOS Charter. Huff has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Harman, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Gloria Deo Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for NYOS Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gloria Deo Academy on the road again on Friday and play against First Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. First Baptist Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.5 points per game.
