High Point is 0-6 against Flowers since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The High Point Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Flowers Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. High Point is out to stop a 14-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
High Point fell victim to DuVal's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Tigers 42-0. High Point was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Meanwhile, Flowers put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Parkdale at home to the tune of 51-12. Given Flowers' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Parkdale is ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Flowers had a senior duo take command as Aidan Garrett rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown and Daquan Young rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Garrett was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards.
DuVal's win bumped their season record to 3-4 while High Point's loss dropped theirs to 0-9.
High Point was dealt a bruising 41-0 defeat at the hands of Flowers in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. Can High Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
