While losing is never fun, Port St. Joe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while Sneads is ranked 34th).
Despite the defeat, Port St. Joe had strong showings from Jaden Jenrett, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds, and Zay Jenkins, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. Jenkins scored a full 32.7% of Port St. Joe's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Harris, who scored 6 points.
Sneads got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Perkins out in front who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Patterson, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Port St. Joe and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Sneads, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Port St. Joe will head out on the road to face off against Wakulla at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sneads, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ponce De Leon at 7:00 p.m.
